Rod is the co-founder and Partner and has over 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Rod set up Milbourne Financial Services in 1986 and, in 2005, arranged the merger of Hayden Financial Services to create HFS Milbourne.
Rod is a keen sportsman, having competed in the Moscow Olympics 4×400 metre relay finals, and can often be seen running in the Surrey Hills with his dog.
Colin is the co-founder and Partner and has over 35-years’ experience within the financial services arena. Colin established Hayden Financial Services in 1985 and in 2005, arranged the merger of Milbourne Financial Services to create HFS Milbourne.
Colin is responsible for all of the recruitment and HR and does a lot of coaching and mentoring with members of the team.
Colin has guided the company to attaining the Investors in People Gold Award and in 2018, the firm was also recognised by Professional Adviser, the industry magazine, as being one of the best financial advisers to work. As a result, there is a tremendous longevity of service within the team at HFS Milbourne.
Colin is a keen cricket & rugby fan and can be seen regularly at the gym keeping fit!
Financial Planning – Director
Iain is a Financial Planning – Director, having originally joined the industry in 1991. He also chairs the Investment Committee responsible for asset allocation and fund selection processes run by the firm. Iain’s approach is one of holistic financial planning whilst naturally specialising in wealth management.
An ex-rugby player and triathlete, knees permitting, an occasional workout is still enjoyed. More sedate leisure activities now include that of a keen but somewhat amateur, trainee wine connoisseur.
Financial Planning – Director
Daren is a Financial Planning – Director and has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Daren originally joined HFS Milbourne Financial Services in 1997 having already spent eight years in the financial services sector.
Daren’s past sporting successes include being an English National Champion at indoor bowls in 1995 and 1997, a British Isles Runner Up in 1996, and having been a Surrey champion at clay shooting in 2016 and 2017.
Chartered Financial Planner
Ed has worked in the financial advisory sector since 1997, holding roles at a number of high profile firms in the City of London, until joining HFS Milbourne in May 2014. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Certified Financial PlannerTM professional (both Level 6 qualifications) and holds the specialist AF3 Pensions qualification. As well as advising private clients on a broad range of financial planning issues, much of Ed’s work centres on divorce, supporting solicitors and clients through the process. He is an associate member of Resolution, the UK’s leading organisation for professionals that work with separating families.
Before the arrival of his two children, Ed regularly flew paragliders, both in the UK and overseas in Europe and North Africa (a hobby he plans to return to once his daughters are a little older). He is an enthusiastic road cyclist and is a passionate England rugby supporter.
Chartered Financial Planner
As a Chartered Financial Planner John is proud to be an Financial Adviser who specialises in advising his clients within the full range of holistic advice, particularly for those moving towards retirement and what is now termed “the third age”.
He is an affiliate member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners and holder of the STEP Certificate for Financial Services (Estates and Trusts). Such qualifications and experience has also enabled him to be appointed as an accredited member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) and is a specialist adviser in funding for care services either to be delivered in a client’s own home or in a care home.
Time outside the office is spent keeping a healthy mind and body by exercising, supporting the arts and his local rugby club, Esher RFC and striving to remain better at skiing than his 5 children. A somewhat hopeless task!
Hannah joined HFS Milbourne in 2018, she has worked in financial services since graduating from University in 2012 with a degree in English Literature. Hannah holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (Level 4) alongside Mortgage and Equity Release qualifications. She is currently working towards Chartered Adviser Status.
When not in the office Hannah enjoys surfing, hiking and cookery. She also volunteers as a career mentor with the University of Reading.
Head of Operations
Belinda joined the company in 2006 and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Belinda has achieved the Chartered Financial Planner status (Level 6) and has the specialist AF3 Pensions qualification. She is the senior member of our Technical Analyst Team and carries out research and reporting on the technical areas of pensions, pensions & divorce and wealth management. Belinda also holds the Resolution IFA Accreditation in the specialist area of pension and divorce.
Belinda enjoys cinema, eating out with friends and is an avid Arsenal FC supporter.
David has over 35 years’ experience at a private bank looking after high net worth individuals. His career primarily focused on the management of clients’ investments whilst specialising in investment research, model portfolio management and construction. David is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments and also holds the Associate Society of Investment Professionals and Private Client Investment Advice and Management qualifications.
Away from the office, David enjoys playing golf and walking with his dog, Daisy.
Technical Analyst – Department Head
Claire is the Technical Analyst Department Head and has worked at HFS Milbourne since 2005, with 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
Claire enjoys interior design and keeping fit through regular workouts and daily walks with her two Cocker Spaniels.
Liz joined HFS Milbourne in June 2013 and is a member of the Technical Analyst Team. Liz has ten years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Liz is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and has achieved the Chartered Financial Planner status (Level 6), she also has the specialist AF3 Pensions qualification and is an affiliate member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practioners. Liz is also a Pension Transfer Specialist at HFS Milbourne.
Liz also has a degree in Tourism Management and as a result loves to travel. She is also a keen tennis fan.
Sarah joined HFS Milbourne in January 2018 as a member of the Technical Analyst Team and is a Chartered Financial Planner (Level 6). She has over 30 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry. Sarah’s passion is netball and she regularly umpires all over Surrey and enjoys watching her daughter play. Sarah is also a keen baker.
Alex joined HFS Milbourne in 2018 and has worked in Financial Services since graduating from University in 2014 with a degree in Mathematics with Business. Alex holds the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA) and is working towards the Chartered Financial Planner status.
Outside of work Alex enjoys swimming, cycling and running and likes to participate in triathlons and marathons.
Employee Benefits – Department Head
Jane heads up the Employee Benefit Department and has been working for the business since 1996. Jane specialises in project managing corporate clients’ Employee Benefits and Workplace Pension Schemes.
Away from work, Jane enjoys days out and walks with her family and friends, holding dinner parties and spending fun times with her young daughter.
